Written the same week as Little Bird, 33 & 7 was an attempt to capture just how laid back this holiday was. 33 & 7 is taken from the war memorial in the village and was the number of men who didn’t return from WWI and WWII respectively. At first I couldn’t understand the difference in the figures however, on further investigation just before WWI the population was only around 90 so over a third didn’t come home. Little wonder the village never recovered.

Hair o' the dog,
released September 30, 2012
Trees frame my view no sound to hear
The clouds drift by but don’t shed a tear
And the road rolls on from Durisdeer
Fields of Green the sun breaks through
Rolling hills light up my view
And the road rolls on from Durisdeer
Chorus
And I sit here in hope
With the world at my feet
Wishing this would not end
I wish I could keep my Durisdeer
Take the stoney path up by Black Hill
Rising through the glen nothing but time to kill
And the road rolls on from Durisdeer
Chorus
Two thousand years by the rolling burn
33 & 7 never to return
And the road rolls on from Durisdeer
